Aliza Ladak

Aliza specializes in helping people reclaim their lives from OCD and anxiety disorders. She is a registered occupational therapist (OT) practicing in the area of psychotherapy. She has over 9 years of mental health experience and has worked in several renowned hospitals in the GTA including Sunnybrook Health Sciences, St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).

At Sunnybrook’s Frederick Thompson Centre, Aliza delivered high quality OCD treatment in their outpatient services and was the first OT in Canada’s intensive residential treatment program for severe OCD. Aliza pioneered the development and implementation of the aftercare program at the Frederick Thompson Centre for clients stepping down from intensive services. She continues to contribute to educational initiatives and disseminates OCD knowledge to build capacity in community clinicians.

Aliza is trained in a variety of psychological modalities including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, and Brief Solution Focused Therapy. Aliza delivers cutting-edge psychological treatment through a practical and functional lens to help her clients get unstuck from OCD’s endless loops, pursue their goals, and lead fulfilling lives.

Aliza is very passionate about ERP. She knows and appreciates how challenging this work can be. She brings enthusiasm to her sessions and takes pride in her creative and innovative approaches to care. Aliza works with clients to cultivate a mindset that restores a sense of agency and promotes being mindful of your choices and actions. Aliza utilizes a holistic, inclusive, and culturally sensitive lens and she is experienced in working with various minority groups, parents, and young adults.
