Catherine Peckitt (she/her)
MA, RSW
Catherine is a seasoned Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist with over 35 years of experience supporting children, adults, couples, and families in healthcare, education, and private practice settings. She brings advanced expertise in trauma, anxiety, OCD, BDD, eating disorders, ADHD and ASD, with a growing specialization in neurodivergent-informed couple’s and family work.
She holds a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Social Work, a postgraduate certificate in Marriage and Family Counselling, a postgraduate certificate in Mediation, and a M.A. in Organizational Development. She is a certified member of the Arbitration and Mediation Institute of Ontario, The Canadian Association of Rehabilitation Professionals, the College of Social Workers, and the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
Catherine has worked with children, adolescents and adults with a range of OCD presentations, helping people with obsessions about contamination, doubting, symmetry/exactness, sexuality, relationships as well as compulsions of cleaning, checking, reassurance seeking and mental review. She has also worked with children, adolescents and adults with OCD related presentations, such as body dysmorphic disorder, who have experienced and Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours (BFRBs), such as Excoriation Disorder (skin picking) and Trichotillomania (TTM or hair pulling).
Her clinical work with with children adolescents and adults has spanned a wide variety of other mental health issues as well, including anxiety disorders, ADHD, eating disorders, depression, and trauma.
Catherine also has a keen interest and focus on couples therapy and family therapy within her clinical practice. This work draws from the Gottman Method, Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Structural Family Systems Therapy, and most recently, Relational Life Therapy (RLT), which she integrates to address power imbalances, communication breakdowns, and emotional disconnection in relationships. Catherine is particularly attuned to how autism, ADHD, OCD, and other forms of neurodivergence affect attachment, intimacy, and relational dynamics. She works holistically with couples to foster insight, accountability, and repair — building connection without sacrificing individual needs
Catherine’s therapeutic style is collaborative, systems-oriented, and trauma-informed. She tailors treatment using a range of modalities including CBT, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT), DBT, ACT, IFS, Narrative, and Psychodynamic Therapy. All of these approaches are evidence-based and focus on building resilience. Catherine is well-known for her ability to navigate complex clinical presentations with warmth, structure, and depth.

Catherine’s leadership roles have included Clinical Manager at the Huron Perth Centre for Children and Youth, Counselling Coordinator for the Avon Maitland District School Board, and Clinical Social Worker at the Wingham & District Hospital & North Huron Family Health Team. Her work within these roles spanned individual and systemic change, with a deep commitment to promoting resilience, accountability, and relational healing.
