We are pleased to provide training opportunities for psychology students at all different levels. We offer practicum placements to students at the Masters or PhD level. We are also pleased to supervise students during their supervised practice year for the College of Psychologists of Ontario as well as for the College of Psychologists of British Columbia.
Clinicians who are training at FTPS will have the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary collaborative group practice. Associates in the practice include a psychologist, social worker, family therapist/parenting coach, psychotherapist, occupational therapists and doctoral level therapists.
We all meet once a month to discuss challenging cases, collaborate and socialize. Should you join our team, you will be provided with supervision and training in a variety of interventions, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) as well as dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT).
Supervision is provided in both individual and group settings to allow for enhanced learning from others and individualized teaching time. All associates have access to a resourceful shared drive that provides comprehensive information on a multitude of assessment and treatment interventions. As a trainee within our practice, you will have the opportunity to work with adolescents and adults in both individuals and group settings.
You will also have to opportunity to engage in both intervention and psycho diagnostic assessment opportunities. If you are interested in joining our team as an associate under supervision, contact [email protected] for further information.
